About the tradition

A Chabeel is a free drinks stall, rooted in the Sikh tradition of Seva: selfless service given without expectation of anything in return. They appear most often in the hot summer months and around Gurpurabs, offered by volunteers simply because someone might be thirsty. Chabeel is open to everyone, regardless of background or faith. No one is ever turned away. Chabeel Finder exists to help more people find them, and more volunteers get recognised for the effort they put in.
